2015 Volunteer Educational Seminar #1

2015 Volunteer Educational Seminar #1

February 17, 2015
6:00 pm
CORE Auditorium
204 Sigma Drive
Pittsburgh , PA 15238

In an effort to provide CORE volunteers with on-going training from a CORE professional, we are pleased to announce the first of four educational seminars planned for 2015:  “Having the Conversation: How to Inspire People to Check the Box”. Inspiring someone to designate themselves as an organ donor isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” conversation. Whether it’s at a tabling event, after a speech, to a young person, an older person, a man or a woman—each time a CORE volunteer meets someone who’s not yet checked the box, that volunteer  needs to know how to tailor that exchange in order to be most effective. During the 90-minte workshop, CORE staffers, using a role play teaching method, will educate the volunteers to, step-by-step, adapt “that conversation” in order to be most impactful. And where will volunteers use this newfound knowledge? During the session we will also give volunteers a glimpse into our exciting 2015 Community Health Center Initiative! Dinner will provided.  If you are interested in attending this seminar, please contact Katelynn Metz at kmetz@core.org or 412-963-3550.
